I see several kinds of people who will want to use the Machines MRS:
1- Reality designer
2- Machine builder (or tweaker)
3- Machine user/destroyer
Each type of user will have different, though overlapping, needs. So the
question is, which audience are we writing for in this MRS? Perhaps a
section for each?
"""""
I think you've pretty much captured the whole potential audience, and done it
in a reasonable order of priority. I'd approach it just like that.
You will need all three sections, so that seems like a good order of approach.
To the question of Formats, I'm a very visually oriented person. I've tried
TeX, but somehow can't get my mind to go that way (strange, 'cause I can think
in HTML :o)
I've pretty much settled on Pagemaker for my work, as I can effortlessly
output PDF files which seems to be the ideal electronic transmission medium,
and can easily incorporate pictures, graphics, etc. If it has a shortcoming,
it is the difficulty in incorporating mathematical equations, but I figure if
I need them, I can use another proggy & output them as graphics, or in the
worst case, I have a TT font editor, & can create my own mathematical fonts ;)
Karim, the new look for the AR web site is very spifty. Keep up the good
work.
Thanks :)

I have run into a problem in my Matrix RG: There is no good reason for the
Machines to keep humans around in the Matrix. I originally thought that it
would be enough to say they keep humans around because they need hardware
to run their AIs on, but I've come to feel that that explanation doesn't
hold water. So I'm left with an uncomfortable decision: Do I give some
hokey reason why they keep humans around? Or do I leave it unexplained?
Neither one sits well with me.
"""""
Hmmm, now you understand my general dislike of this film ;-P Um, I really
can't think of a good explanation beyond the need for Wetware processing...
What is your reasoning for discounting this idea?
