Sorry; DTP=DeskTop Publishing.  These days the boundary between WYSIWYG
word processors and DTP software is pretty thin, but there are some
paradigmatic differences between the two which tend to make putting
together actual books (esp. with tables and illustrations) more facile in
the latter than the former....

That's the problem: I don't know if anything else _can_ read Publisher
files.  This is why I didn't send this to the list initially...I was
hoping to get the file into a more universal format first.  I haven't had
a chance, alas, to do much looking into conversion options; having had
little luck with dumping to PS and trying to convert the (150+MB)
output into PDF with Distiller, I'm open to suggestions on this point...
